Athena's staff consists of talented geologist with a wide range of geologic experience over a wide geographic range. This includes modern coastal environments in the United States, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Athena also has experience in Coastal Plain environments, the southern Appalachians, and fluvial settings.

Athena has presented papers at meetings convened by the Geological Society of America and the Society of Economic and Petroleum Geologists. Athena was also a convener of the SEPM's Charleston Conference on Aquifer and Aquitard Heterogeneity at Charleston, South Carolina in March of 2002.

Dr. Sexton has led the way with the publishing of many papers in scientific journals over the past three decades.
